“What should I expect?” is an important question to ask when considering grief counseling. The answer to that is rooted in the grief story of Kaleo Counseling co-founder Greg D.
Grief invaded his life in a traumatic and devastating way when his 17 year old son died in a car crash. That began an agonizing journey and a need for help and care from someone who “gets it”.
Greg’s quest was for something that spiritually and humanely tended to his grieving soul. In time he was introduced to Dr. Alan Wolfelt’s companioning philosophy of care. He has since spent time with Dr Wolfelt and been certified and trained in integrating the nuances of that style of help and care into a counseling approach.
Besides spending time meeting with those experiencing grief Greg D. works personally with each therapist at the Hope Center for Grief and Life Losses to ensure their exposure, understanding and adoption of the companioning model.
So “What should I expect?” A companion on your grief journey that will honor your grief’s call for understanding and the need to find hope.
